The Mystery Behind the Scenes - How I Work
December 14th, 2008 9:59 AM
It's very important for me to be accessible to you.  You call, I answer.  You write, I respond.  My home is about two miles from my office and I will go to the office on any day at any time.  I decided about two years ago that I prefer to do the "behind the scenes" work myself.  This limits me to fewer transactions at one time but I would rather have fewer clients who get better service.  I was raised in the real estate world and this was long before the days of computers and cell phones.  My father owned a successful real estate company for decades.  We were actually "high tech" for the time.  We had two rotary dial phones on the kitchen wall.  One phone was our home number and the other phone somehow connected to my father's business across town.  Everytime his office phone rang, it rang in our kitchen at home as well.  That was big time technology in the 60's!  My father made sure that I could research a deed at the town hall before I was old enough to drive.  I knew the basics of an appraisal before I was twenty.  We used typewriters and carbon paper.  Every deal required a lot of time and paper.  Today, it's all different so  I have worked very hard to find the right balance of using technology while keeping it personal.  I don't know about you, but when I make a phone call, I want to talk to a person.  I prefer to hand deliver papers when possible and I like to sit down with a cup of coffee to talk.  For most people, real estate is their biggest financial investment.  I take that seriously and I want to look at you when we talk.  I want to do the same with your mortgage lender, your insurance agent, your home inspector,  your closing attorney, and everyone else who is involved.  Call me corny, but that's the way I like to do business.  If you like that too, call me.  If I am with a client, you will have to leave a message on my cell phone voicemail but I will listen to the message and I will call you back shortly thereafter.  When you and I are working, you will also have my total attention.  Thank you for visiting.
